Amber Rutter is a talented sport shooter, who made headlines following her incredible feat of winning Silver in Skeet at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Named the most successful Briton in ISSF World Cup events, Amber has a plethora of medals in her tally – including double ISSF World Championship Golds. Amber’s Olympic Silver marked the first medal for Team GB in the sport since its debut at the 2000 Olympic Games, making Amber widely regarded as a sporting role model. Such status now makes Amber highly sought after for sharing her inspirational story as a sports and Olympic speaker at various events.
Aged just 10, Amber began practising shooting, going on to compete in small shooting competitions. Aged 12, Amber was selected to compete in England’s senior women’s team – recognised for her talent in the skeet shooting discipline. At the 2013 ISSF World Cup, Amber made history as the youngest-ever winner – aged just 15. Following her success at the competition, Amber topped the sport’s rankings, becoming the shooting top-ranked senior for Great Britain and number 5 in the World. Since then, Amber has claimed countless other medals in her sport, including four European Shooting Championships Gold medals and Gold at the 2015 European Games. She has also claimed two Silver ISSF World Championships medals, a Silver European Championship medal, a Silver Commonwealth Games medal and a Gold Commonwealth Championships medal in skeet shooting.
Making her Olympic debut back in 2016, at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Amber was selected to compete at the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Unfortunately, Amber tested positive for COVID-19, causing her to withdraw from the competition. In 2024, she claimed her first Olympic Silver medal, impressively competing in Paris having given birth to her son three months earlier. In her final, Amber competed against Francisca Crovetto and finished in second place under controversy. In the fourth round of the competition, Amber’s shot was considered a miss, but upon the slow-motion replay of the shot, it showed that Amber hit the target. Incredibly happy with her Olympic Silver medal, Amber celebrated with her son at the medal ceremony.
Having earned 11 World Cup medals and the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award, Amber is highly regarded as a role model in sports shooting. Having made an immensely successful return to the sport following her pregnancy, Amber is considered an inspirational female role model. Experiencing anxiety and depression after she had to withdraw from the 2020 Olympic Games, Amber is now committed to sharing her story and promoting the support of mental health in elite sports. If you are looking to hire an inspirational elite athlete to share their empowering story of success and to discuss the sometimes harsh reality of elite sports, don’t hesitate to hire Amber Rutter today.
