Jamie Donaldson is a Welsh professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and is recognised for securing the winning point in Europe’s Ryder Cup victory in 2014. He has also achieved 10 professional tournament wins, including 3 on both the European and Challenge Tours. Achieving success during his amateur golfing career, Jamie won two Welsh Amateur Championships and made multiple team appearances for Wales, Great Britain & Ireland and Europe, winning the 1998 Bonallack Trophy and 2000 St Andrews Trophy. Becoming a professional golfer in 2000, he joined the Challenge Tour and won the BMW Russian Open and Telia Grand Prix the next year. Jamie gained his third Challenge Tour win at the 2007 Guatemala Open. Following consistent performances, he finished in the top 50 on the Order of Merit in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Making his European Tour breakthrough, he achieved his maiden win at the Irish Open before he went on to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, moving inside the top 30 of the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career. Jamie gained another European tour win at the 2014 D+D Real Czech Masters and won the Thailand Golf Championship. Since joining the European Senior Tour, he has won the 2025 Champions UK plc European Senior Masters and the 2026 Staysure Marbella Legends.
Building a legacy in golf, Jamie became the seventh Welshman to win multiple titles on the European Tour. He also joined an elite club during the 2013 Masters Tournament when he became the 5th man in history to record a hole-in-one on the 6th hole at the Augusta National Golf Club.
