Casey Stoney


British footballer, Casey Stoney has played the game professionally since the age of 12, when she joined Chelsea Ladies (Chelsea L.F.C). She moved to Arsenal Ladies in 1999 and progressed to England international level before transferring to Charlton Athletic Ladies in 2002, where she captained the team to their first FA Women’s Cup Final.

In 2004, Casey once again led Charlton to success in the FA Women’s Premier League Cup, followed by another victory in the 2005 FA Women’s Cup and 2006 Premier League Cup.

Casey and her former Charlton teammate Eniola Aluko joined Chelsea Ladies in 2007 and after two years with the team, she became player-manager for the final games of the 2009 season. She signed for Lincoln Ladies in 2010 but returned to Chelsea in 2014 on a two-year contract. She signed for Liverpool Ladies in 2016.

Throughout her international career, Casey has made an incredible number of 130 appearances for England and four for Great Britain. The first female member of the Professional Footballers’ Association’s management committee, she led the female England team through Euro 2013 before being called up to become part of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad. Most recently, Casey has become a pivotal member of the team that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017.
