Vee Kativhu

Vee Kativhu is fast becoming one of the world-leading figures in education and youth empowerment who, for someone so young, has achieved so much. To date, Vee has helped over 300,000 underrepresented youth to reach their full academic potential and founded the non-profit organisation Empowered By Vee to continue making higher education more accessible for all. Via her YouTube Channel which currently has more than 270,000 subscribers, Vee shares life-changing tips for all who are pursuing higher education but have little support. Facing numerous tragedies throughout her young life; from losing her father and leaving her home country of Zimbabwe, Vee had to build up a strong level of mental resilience. She has since gone on to graduate from two of the most prestigious universities in the world, Cambridge and Harvard, gaining a BA in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, and a master’s in International Education Policy respectively. In recognition of her dedication to helping bridge the gap of inequality in education, Vee was named a recipient of the Diana Legacy Award. A talented author, Vee released her self-help book ‘Empowered: Live Your Life with Passion and Purpose’, and volunteered at female education charities such as ‘Girl Up Zimbabwe’ in a bid to achieve her dream of helping youth.

Alongside being the Founder and Director at Empowered By Vee, Vee is also a Young Leader for the SDGs at the United Nations, is an Advisory Board Member for the Born This Way Foundation and is a UK Youth Leader for the Global Partnership for Education. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to ensuring access to education for all, Vee has been presented with numerous awards including the Rare Rising Star award from Members of UK Parliament, and the Diversity Champion award issued by the Vice Chancellor of Oxford University.

Highly sought-after as a public speaker, Vee has presented a TEDxSurreyUniversity talk: ‘The Power of World, Social Impact and Making Lemonade’ and has spoken for clients including J.P Morggan, BBC Woman’s Hour, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford and Harvard University to name a few.
