Travis D. After sustaining terrible injuries at only 19 years old, his entire world was thrown upside down; while he received superb support during his time in hospital, he was left to his own devices once he was discharged. It was at this point that Travis recognised just how lacking victim support services were, and vowed to make a change. Ever since, he’s been successfully campaigning for the rights of victims of terrorism, leading to the co-founding of the Survivors Against Terror charity organisation and Resilience in Unity NGO.
Now, Travis is an OBE celebrated for his services to counter-extremism, with the King even acknowledging the impact he’s had. Thus, he was appointed Deputy Lord-Lieutenant at age 26, making him the UK’s youngest man to ever receive such an honour. Partnered with a commendation awarded by Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations and Head of Counter Terrorism Policing, a British Citizen Medal of Honour presented by the Palace of Westminster, and the National Crimebeat Award given by Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick, Travis now ranks among some of the most celebrated young men in British history.
Among his work as a campaigner for the establishment of a "National Day of Tribute for Victims of Terrorism” and his services to the King, Travis has taken to the stage to share his personal experience with audiences across the globe.
