
Sophia McCall is a CREST-Certified Threat Intelligence Manager and a leading figure in cybersecurity. With experience across the retail, financial, and automotive sectors, Sophia blends her expertise in regulatory threat intelligence-led penetration schemes, automotive security, and penetration testing to excel in her current role as a Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst at Marks and Spencer.
Beginning as a Technology Intern at JPMorgan Chase & Co, Sophia has held a range of influential roles across her career. Following a year at Samsung Electronics as a Level 1 Engineer, she spent short stints at Information Risk Management as a Junior Technical Consultant and at NCC Group on a Junior Security Consultancy placement. She served as the President of BU Cyber Security Society before joining NCC Group through their Next Generation Talent Programme. Whilst she worked her way up to become a Strategic Threat Intelligence Team Lead at NCC, Sophia co-founded Security Queens, a cybersecurity blog. In 2025, she began her role at Marks and Spencer.
Sophia was featured on Channel 4’s ‘Hunted’ as a cyber hunter in Hunted HQ, applying her cybersecurity acumen and investigative skills to hunting contestants. Through knowledge of threat intelligence, digital forensics, and operational forensics, Sophia has received several accolades. She was awarded ‘Outstanding Young Cyber Security Professional’, ‘Top Female Cybersecurity Leader’, and was the winner of ‘Most Inspiring Women in Cyber’. Her blog was awarded ‘Most Educational Blog for User Awareness’ at the European Cybersecurity Blogger Awards 2022, and since 2021, has been a Chapter Administrator of the Ladies of Cheltenham Hacking Society. She has previously been a member and captain of Team UK at the European Cyber Security Challenge and has since returned as a coach to mentor the next generation of ethical hackers.
With a passion for converting the challenges of cyber threats into applicable advice, Sophia is a keen public speaker looking to inspire and embolden audiences with her unique insights and intelligent perspectives. She has delivered talks at BSides, Infosec Europe, DTX Europe, CyNam, and Cheltenham Science Festival, and will be speaking at CymruSec in October 2025. She has delivered cyber threat intelligence workhops for several banks, institutions, and organisations, and has been featured on both television and radio to discuss cybersecurity. She is an advocate for increased diversity and inclusion in technology and is eager to increase the number of women in both the worlds of cyber and motorsport as a member of the British Women Racing Drivers Club.
