Sindhu Vee is a British comedian and actress who's her quick wit and unapologetic situational comedy appeal to audiences of all demographics. Sindhu has performed at a range of events, such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and across the UK, US and her country of birth, India.
Born in New Delhi, Sindhu attended the city's university, as well as the University of Oxford, the University of Chicago, and McGill University. Her educated background has given her a unique foundation for her comedy, allowing her to draw from a range of experiences and connect with a variety of people. Since first performing professionally in 2012, she has frequented the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every year from 2012 to 2017. Taking to the screen, Sindhu appeared on some of the most prominent British comedy panels on television, like BBC One's Have I Got News For You, BBC Two's QI and Dave's Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled. She has also been a guest on Mock of the Week, The Last Leg, The Jonathan Ross Show, The Weakest Link, and was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, where she was eliminated in week 7. In 2018, she wrote and hosted her own series on Radio 4, Sindhustan, returning most recently with her new series, Things My Mother Never Told Me About Lockdown. Sindhu has also featured in Netflix's Sex Education and Feel Good, and most prominently played Mrs Phelps in the 2022 Matilda the Musical. In 2025, she released her comedy special, 'Alphabet', which was performed as a live show and toured before its release.
As a testament to her hilarious skill, Sindhu has been the recipient of a number of accolades. At the Edinburgh Fringe, she was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer and received a nomination for the BBC New Comedy Award in 2016. In 2017, came second in the 2017 Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and third in the 2017 NATYS: New Acts of the Year Show. In 2026, she will tour internationally with her comedy show, 'Swanky'.
