Shivani Uberoi

Shivani Uberoi is an author, TEDx speaker, chartered accountant and leading inclusion and emotional fitness expert. A highly sought-after keynote speaker, she is best known for her work helping organisations create cultures where people can be themselves and thrive. Her biggest achievement to date is delivering the TEDx talk ‘Why Fitting In Will Screw You Up’, which has shaped national conversations on belonging at work and forms the foundation of her forthcoming book ‘Unlocking Authenticity’.

Shivani began her career in professional services, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) after training at PwC, following the completion of a BSc at City St George’s, University of London. Her early years were spent navigating high-performance, male-dominated environments, experiences that would later define her speaking and advisory work. In 2010, she joined Sky as a finance analyst and progressed through a series of senior finance roles across Sky Sports, marketing and commercial teams. These formative experiences exposed her to the realities of workplace inequality, self-censorship and burnout, prompting her to question how success was defined and who workplaces were really built for. In 2012, Shivani pioneered Sky’s first business case for diversity, marking a decisive shift from traditional finance leadership into inclusion and culture change.

Her impact at Sky was transformative. Appointed Head of Women in Leadership in 2016, Shivani led the organisation’s gender equality strategy across a 26,000-strong workforce, working directly with executives and senior leaders to embed inclusion into leadership behaviours. She founded Women@Sky and co-founded Multiculture@Sky, employee networks that remain integral to the company today, and also led mental health empowerment initiatives across finance and corporate teams. Alongside holding the role of Head of Strategy and Communications, Shivani represented Sky externally, spoke at the House of Lords, and hosted high-profile events interviewing industry figures and cultural leaders. During her tenure, Sky was recognised with multiple external awards, including the WISE Top Employer Award presented by HRH The Princess Royal and national recognition as one of the UK’s most inclusive employers. In 2021, Shivani left Sky to qualify as a Leadership and Executive Coach, specialising in neuroscience and human behaviour, before founding The Wallflower Academy, a social enterprise reinvesting profits into charities supporting women, mental health and race equity.

Today, Shivani is a trusted keynote speaker for organisations seeking meaningful, lasting change. She works with global clients including Comcast, NBCUniversal, Ocean Infinity and HMCTS, and holds the role of Inclusion Lead at the England and Wales Cricket Board. Her talks explore inclusion, belonging, mental health, allyship, leadership and identity, grounded in lived experience, neuroscience and powerful storytelling.
