Samantha Garstin is an incredible woman who has dedicated herself to deconstructing the stigma surrounding periods, as well as exploring how neurodiversity coincides with menstrual wellness. Otherwise known as the ‘Period Princess’, she seeks to flip the conversation altogether, focusing on how crucial it is to improve menstrual wellness education and how to better understand the complexities of cycles altogether. Whether she’s doing a deep dive into how hormones influence how we think, feel, and act or sharing her story as a woman diagnosed with autism and ADHD at 43, Samantha is a breath of fresh air in the speaking scene.
This beautiful journey of Samantha’s began with her diagnosis in 2020. Finally, she had an answer to one of the most pressing questions she’d been asking for almost four decades – why am I in this constant state of chaos? And yet, not every loose end had been tied up; though she now knew that her panic attacks had been autistic meltdowns and her depression was really burnout, there was still more to learn. And so, she began to study the menstrual cycle closer, hoping to better understand how neurodiversity and hormonal changes directly impact one another. In the end, she developed her first and most impactful coping strategy to date – Cyclical Living.
Now, Samantha is proud to be a trusted source of self-love and acceptance among those who menstruate. Having worked with organisations such as the National Trust and the Alzheimer’s Society, she’s earned a fantastic reputation for taking a complex topic and breaking it down into relatable, quirky, and engaging keynote presentations. Partnered with her experiences as the Founder of Menstrual WISE Coaching, Samantha has earned her place as a Menstrual Education Coach, Leader of Being Bloody Marvellous Menstrual Workshops and Neurodiversity & Periods Educator.
In hiring Samantha for your event, you’ll be inviting onto your stage a woman who’s more than just an expert. She is the people she speaks to, and it’s this part of her keynote talks that creates a palpable connection between speaker and audience. From the moment she steps onto the stage, Samantha redefines the narrative surrounding periods, creating a healthy environment in which no person feels alone.
