Football speaker and former player Ryan Giggs is a Welsh born sportsman known for dedicating his career to Manchester United, where he played for almost twenty five years. Making his first appearance for the club in 1991, Ryan played on United’s first team until 2014 when he retired as a player. Continuing to work for the club as a football speaker and assistant manager. Son of esteemed rugby league player and sports speaker Danny Wilson, Ryan began his junior career at Manchester rivals, Manchester City but moved to United on his 14th birthday in 1987.
Boasting a number of impressive statistics and honours from his time at Manchester United, Ryan holds the club’s record for competitive appearances, and holds the national record for most top division league titles, winning no less than 13 Premier League titles during his time at United and representing his team at more than 630 Premier League games. Outside his allegiance with Manchester United, Ryan was the first player in history to win two consecutive PFA Young Player of the Year awards in both 1992 and 93, and is the only player to appear in every one of the first 22 seasons of the Premier League, as well as the only player to score in each of the first 21 seasons.
Scoring an unbelievable 168 goals for Manchester United and racking up almost 1000 appearances for the club Ryan remains one of the most sought after sports speakers for the team. His long term affiliation with the club has made him one of the most popular footballers in Manchester United’s history and garnered an enormous and incredibly loyal fan base. Now working as a coach and manager for the team, Ryan often appears at players’ events and after dinner speaker functions.

He played in 64 games for Wales and captained team GB in the London 2012 Olympic Games. An active player and sports speaker for Wales between 1991 and 2007 Ryan was also part of the Wales Under 18 and Under 21 teams and was twice voted BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year. In 2010 Giggs’ contribution to British sport was recognised when he was honoured with an OBE for his services as a football speaker and player.
