
Welsh celebrity chef Peter Gorton is proprietor and head chef in his own restaurant, runs cooking classes, is project ambassador for a children’s education scheme and a recognisable TV personality and celebrity chef. It is safe to say that Peter Gorton has had his fingers in many pies.
Beginning his career in the late 1970’s Gorton has worked upwards from the lowly station of Commis chef to establishing himself as a restaurant owner and celebrity chef entirely upon his own merits. He has worked in numerous high class restaurants across Britain, including the Hilllaire Restaurant in London, The Carved Angel and Café in Devon and even, spreading his wings a little further afield, The Jamin Restaurant in Paris.
Outside his work as a TV & celebrity chef Peter Gorton is a rugby enthusiast, amateur artist and runner and has taken part in the London Marathon. His culinary awards and achievements include a Michelin Star, an Egon Ronay Service & Care Award, Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year Award and a Financial Times best in category restaurant.
Peter Gorton has also published recipes and cookery tips in the Good Food Guide and his own book: the Horn of Plenty Cookery Book (1996). Peter now spends his time completing his television commitments, working as a TV celebrity chef for Channel 5 West and ITV West as well as running his own establishment, The Horn of Plenty in Devon.
