Nathan Blecharczyk

Nathan Blecharczyk is a renowned businessman, who has earned billions of dollars through his ingenuity and dedication to technology. At present, he is the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Airbnb, Chairman of Airbnb China and Airbnb’s first Chief Technology Officer, resulting in Nathan becoming the 474th richest person of 2017 according to Forbes.

After earning a degree in Computer Science from Harvard University, Nathan was an Engineer for OPNET Technologies in 2005, before moving to Batiq in 2007 as their Lead Developer. In 2008, Nathan partnered with Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia to create Airbnb, serving as the company’s first chief technology officer. Amongst his other accolades, Nathan coded the companies first website.

After funding for the company dried up, Nathan and the founders bought large quantities of cereal, designed packaging branded as Obama O’s and Cap’n McCain’s cereal to sell at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. Though it started as a marketing ploy, the company raised $30,000, attracting the attention of Y combinator co-founder Paul Graham, who gave them $20,000 and accepted the company into the Y Combinator seed funding program in 2009. In early 2017, Blecharczyk transitioned to Chief Strategy Officer at Airbnb, and was later announced as the Chairman of Airbnb China, known as Aibiying.
