Mikko Hyppönen

Mikko Hyppönen is one of the most respected voices in cybersecurity globally, currently serving as a Chief Research Officer at Sensofusion and Principal Cybersecurity Advisor at Elisa. Drawing from over three decades of experience in the technology industry, Mikko speaks with authority and shares practical insights into navigating the ever-evolving digital world.

Beginning his extensive career in cybersecurity as a Researcher at Data Fellows, he built labs and research functions for the company. For over 20 years, he worked as a Chief Research Officer at F-Secure Corporation, whilst serving on various global boards, including the Nordic Business Forum, the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Europol, where he testified for the EU parliament, influencing cybersecurity policy and digital risk awareness. He made a lateral move to WithSecure whilst continuing at F-Secure Corporation as a Principal Research Advisor. In 2022, he started his own enterprise and co-founded T2AB.VC, where he invests in emerging technology and cybersecurity ventures worldwide. Currently serving as a board member for FireTail and Verge Motorcycles, Mikko joined Sensofusion as a Chief Research Officer in 2025, also becoming the Principal Cybersecurity Advisor at Elisa in the same year.

Recognising his influential contributions to the field of cybersecurity, Mikko was awarded the National Defence Medal and the Medal of Merit of the Information Guild. Previously named in the Top 100 Global Thinkers by Foreign Policy magazine and 50 Most Important People on the Web by PC World, he has also received various accolades, including Cybersecurity Person Of The Year by CISO Magazine and being inducted into the Inforsecurity Europe Hall of Fame. In 2022, he published his book, ‘If It’s Smart, It’s Vulnerable’, exploring the best and worst parts of the internet. Highlighting his global impact on cybersecurity leadership, Mikko was recently awarded Visionary Leadership Best Practices Recognition 2026 by Frost & Sullivan Institute.
