Matt Richardson is a young British comedian who rose to stardom in 2010 when he began performing gigs up and down the country. Alongside his stand-up comedy work Richardson is also a co-host of the popular ITV2 series Xtra Factor, after replacing pop-star and previous TV presenter Olly Murrs in 2013.
Embarking on his stand-up comedy career at only eighteen Richardson quickly gained recognition, reaching the finals of both the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year awards and So You Think You’re Funny in 2010. His first solo show, Hometown Hero, won Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2012. Since then Richardson has gone on to perform at comedy festivals, headline gigs, support theatre tours and provide the after dinner entertainment for corporate functions.
As a comedian Richardson is a funny, fresh and exciting; he often appears alongside fellow stand-up comedy stars on panel shows and as the comedy guest on late night talk shows, including Sweat the Small Stuff, Celebrity Juice and Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.
As a TV presenter Matt Richardson is most well-known for his work on the Xtra Factor, however he has also appeared on The Bodyshocker Show and Nevermind the Buzzcocks. Richardson is an incredibly popular guest and headline act, he has supported fellow comedian Mark Watson and worked closely alongside comedy TV host Russell Caine.
