Lisa Ventura MBE is an award-winning cyber security expert, and the woman behind Cyber Security Unity. A role model for woman in tech and a neurodiverse leader, Lisa has broken down barriers throughout her career, to pursue her passion for cyber security. An expert in all aspects of digital, from PR to content creation, Lisa has over 20 years of experience as an authority in her field, ensuring she is one of the most sought-after expert speakers. Able to discuss inclusivity, women in cyber and info security, Lisa’s breadth of topics is vast, making her ideal for a range of audience demographics.
After founding UK Cyber Security Association in 2019, Lisa is now the Founder of Cyber Security Unity which aims to unite the cyber security industry to combat the growing cyber threat globally. She also aims to raise awareness of the importance of cyber security and educate the public to enhance their knowledge and reduce cybercrime. Driven by her passion, Lisa hosts a whole calendar of events through Cyber Security Unity that are focused on its aims and is credited with improving the skills gap between education and industry. Additionally, Lisa also works as the Cyber Security Campaigns Manager for BlueVoyant. Utilising her experiences as a business leader, Lisa supports BlueVoyant in driving growth.
Having been in the technology industry since the mid-90s, Lisa’s knowledge has grown with digital developments, placing her at the forefront of cyber security today. Prior to founding the UK Cyber Security Association, Lisa held various senior PR and marketing roles, including the Content Marketing & Editorial Director at Corinium Global Intelligence and the PR & Marketing Manager at BT. Such positions equipped her with the insights to understand the potential of digital and potential dangers, if cyber security is not held in the highest regard, leading to form her personal consultancy.
With such an influential impact on the industry, it’s no surprise Lisa has a plethora of accolades to her name, including Outstanding Contribution to Cyber Security Award and Cyber Security Personality of the Year. Determined to increase diversity in the sector, Lisa uses her platform to empower more women into tech roles, which has seen her awarded the Cyber Security Supporter of Women title and an MBE in the King's Honours List 2023 . Furthermore, having been diagnosed as autistic in 2018, Lisa is an advocate for greater neurodiversity in cyber and leadership positions. At events, Lisa expands on the topics she is passionate about, and educates others in engaging presentations.
