Kristen Holmes is the Vice President of Performance Science at WHOOP, as well as a three-time All-American athlete and two-time Big Ten Athlete of the Year in field hockey and basketball. As a keynote speaker she specialises in the psychotherapy of performance and sleep optimisation for peak performance.
As Vice President of Performance Science at WHOOP, she collaborates with leading researchers and partners to deepen the understanding of individual and team biometric and performance data across high-stakes environments. Kristen also works with elite tactical units, professional athletes, surgical teams, and NCAA athletes. This assists in the interpretation of WHOOP data in order to optimize training, recovery, and sleep behaviours. In her current position she focuses on understanding the science behind factors that influence performance, including physiological, psychological, and organisational elements.
Before her career with WHOOP, Kristen was a recognised athlete becoming a three-time All-American athlete and twice named Big Ten Athlete of the Year, competing in both field hockey and basketball. She was also part of the U.S. National Field Hockey Team, and after transitioned to coaching, becoming one of the most successful coaches in Ivy League history.
Outside of her work in sport Kristen has earnt a Master of Arts in Psychology and Sports Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sports Performance, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Iowa.
