He has been a member of the Association of Business Schools Innovation Task Force and an expert adviser on European Monetary Union to the Irish Joint Oireachtas (Parliament and Senate) Committee on European Affairs. He has been a member of the OECD National Innovation Systems in Catching-up Economies Expert and contributed to the Working Group on Innovation and Technology Policy, National Innovation Systems Analytical Findings. He was a member of the Aspen Institute Berlin High Level Expert Group on "Transatlantic relations" and participated as an author and policy adviser to the European Commission's High Level Expert Group on the Technologies (ICTs) on MNCS and SMEs in the European Union.
