Graham Roberts

Graham Roberts is a respected, former professional footballer and football manager. Born in Southhampton, Roberts joined his local club, Southampton FC, as an associate schoolboy but unfortunately failed to make the grade and was released. Roberts joined Portsmouth in March of 1977 and was then later sold, to Dorchester Town, where he impressed before joining local rivals, Weymouth. Roberts was then sold to Tottenham Hostpur in 1980 for the large amount of £35,000.

A member of the extremely successful Tottenham Hotspur team of the early 1980's, Roberts was part of the double-FA cup side and also witnessed Tottenham Hotspur winning the UEFA Cup in 1984, scoring in the second leg of the final against Anderlecht, as well as scoring his penalty that seen Spurs win the final on a shootout.

Roberts then moved to Rangers in 1986 for the large sum of £450,000 and won the Scottish Premier Division in his first full season and the Scottish League Cup a year later. Whilst at Rangers, Roberts was involved in a controversial Old Firm Derby, at Ibrox Park in October of 1987.

Roberts joined Chelsea in August of 1988, for £475,000 and helped the side emphatically win the Second Division Championship in 1988-89. Roberts later moved to West Bromwich Albion, where he played out the remainder of his professional career. Roberts also won six caps for England. Aside from playing football, Roberts also had a successful managing career.

Roberts was the manager of Enfield from 1992, until 1994, and went on to manage Yeovil Town between 1995 to 1998. Roberts was later the manager of Chesham United during the 1998-99 season. Additionally, in June of 2005, Roberts was appointed manager of Clyde. Roberts only had three players under contract and held open trials in an attempt to sign new players. Roberts gave the supporters their greatest days in years when his Clyde side defeated Celtic in the Scottish Cup in January of 2006. Earlier in the season, Clyde took Rangers to extra time at Ibrox Stadium in the Scottish League Cup.

In September of 2010, Roberts was hired as a consultant to the Pakistan National Football Team to assist the coaching staff. Roberts was later appointed as head coach in the following month. Roberts then joined the Nepal National Football Team in January of 2011.
