Gordon Smart

Gordon Smart is an experienced media professional who has held roles with leading broadcasters and publications in the UK. Known as the Host of the Restless Natives Podcast alongside Martin Compston, he is also a Copper Dog Whisky Global Ambassador and advisory board member for Vinyl Box, Head of Music, and Extreme Leaders. A leading journalist and broadcaster, he is also an eloquent speaker, regularly hired to share his distinguished expertise in the media industry.

After obtaining a BA in Journalism at Napier University, Gordon started his professional career as a News Reporter for Deadline Scotland. He then joined The Sun as Deputy of Showbiz Editor before becoming Showbiz Editor in 2007. Gordon became a Pundit on Xtra Factor in 2009, appearing on the spin-off show for two series, followed by Presenter at Xfm and Editor of The Scottish Sun. He returned to The Sun as Deputy Editor in 2016 and went on to join Global as Radio Presenter on Radio X and then on the Evening Show.

In 2021 he became the Host of the Scottish FA, a Writer at Bonnier Books UK, and Host of FANE. He also served as an Advisor at Frame, Host at Hibernian Football Club and Host and Executive Producer of News UK. Gordon later appeared on ITV as News Anchor before becoming the Host of Street Soccer London. Alongside his work on Restless Natives, Gordon is a Voice Over Artist at Yakety Yak All Mouth Limited and a Radio and Television Presenter at The BBC, hosting Morning Live on BBC One with Michelle Ackerley and Helen Skelton.
