One of the most instantly recognisable television presenters and broadcasters in the country, Gethin Jones is best known for his appearances on children's programme Blue Peter. Outside of the media, Jones has also shown a natural flair within the business world as he has set up companies in various industries.
Born in Wales, Gethin kickstarted his career in the media with S4C as a presenter of various children’s programmes. Popty, Mas Draw and Uned 5 saw him participate in a multitude of activities including gaining a pilot’s licence. After he was voted the Bachelor of the Year award by Company magazine, he joined the cast of children’s favourite, Blue Peter. He took part in more adventures during this role including flying the Red Arrows, being attacked by an alligator in Louisiana and fighting as a samurai warrior in Japan.
After his three and a half year-long stint at Blue Peter, Jones went onto present various Welsh live events as well as venturing into radio in 2008. He presented a three-hour Saturday morning slot for BBC Radio 5 Live where he discussed sport and entertainment news items and eventually became the co-presenter of the Sunday Breakfast Show for Heart Network. Some of his presenting highlights include presenting the Golden Globes programme in 2010, hosting Remembrance Week on BBC One in 2011 and joining the team of reporters of Daybreak in 2012.
Alongside his incredibly successful presenting career, Gethin is also the founder of fitness app Unifi and events company in which partnered up with Leaf Hospitality. He has also come third place in BBC’s fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing, appeared as a Cyberman in a 2006 episode of Doctor Who and was an Olympic Torchbearer at the 2012 London Olympics.
