George's career has been one of a great success varying throughout theatre, television and film. A fantastic actor who has shined in many leads roles in the West End and across all genres whether that be comedy, musical theatre or drama. He is best recognised for his roles on television programmes Doctor in the House, It Ain't Half Hot Mum and Minder. Some of his theatre credits include the nationally acclaimed production of Comedians, directed by Sean Holmes, where he played the role of Bert Challenor for the Oxford Stage Company. Additional roles include Amos Hart in Chicago and his role of Fagin in Oliver! Directed by Sam Mendes to which was performed at the London Palladium.
George has starred in numerous television series and has had an extremely extensive career as an actor and writer. Some of his TV credits include The Sweeney, Holby City, The Bill, Robin's Nest and That's Life. However more recently George can be seen in Celebrity Masterchef, Eastenders and the Boomers. George appeared at the Cadogan Hall alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra where he read his best-selling book The Fib. He read it alongside music which was especially written and conducted by Debbi Wiseman, the distinguished film composer.
More recently George excelled in the role of Billy Dunn in Heartbreak House, a Chichester Festival Theatre production. In 2015 George's acting career continued to rocket as he filmed ITV's series two of Vicious as well as BBC's Doctors and Casualty. George radiates a natural wit and warmth which has helped him excel in not only acting but also after-dinner speaking. He brings entertaining, engaging and often funny stories to which he's collected throughout his long and illustrious career in show business, offering insights and behind the scenes to his career as an actor.
