Erin Cuthbert is a Scottish footballer, best known for playing for the esteemed Chelsea football club. Additionally, Erin is also part of the Scottish national team, where she represents her home country.
In her early career, Erin played for five years as part of the Rangers team. She also spent time representing Scotland internationally, playing in the under 15s, under 17s and under 19 levels. After five years with the team, she transferred to play for Glasgow City in 2015. After a year playing with this team, she got her big break in football, getting the opportunity to join the Football Association Women’s Super League playing for Chelsea Football Club in 2016.
2017 brought Erin’s debut game for the team, playing in the 7-0 win over the Doncaster Rovers Belles during the FA Women’s Cup. Later in 2017, she made her league debut, scoring the team’s fourth goal during Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Yeovil Town. Her first season was very successful for Chelsea, finishing with four goals and seven appearances in all competitions. Also in 2017, Erin made her debut in the UEFA Women’s Champions League where she played in the 1-0 victory over Rosengard.
Alongside playing for Chelsea, Erin was also selected to represent Scotland internationally again. Erin was selected for the full Scotland squad to play during the Euro 2017 qualifiers, playing in qualifiers against Iceland and Belarus. She was later selected to play in the Scottish squads of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Whilst playing at the 2019 Women’s World Cup Erin performed impeccably, scoring one of the goals which saw Scotland draw 3-3 with Argentina.
Erin continued to play for Chelsea, taking to the FA Women’s Cup once again. In the fourth round of the FA Women’s Cup Erin scored her first hat-trick for the club with her team claiming a 10-0 victory over the London Bees. After her impressive performance in the seasons she had played so far she was nominated for the PFA Women’s Players’ Player Of The Year award for 2018-19 season.
