Dr Sara Kayat is an NHS and private GP, regularly sharing her healthcare expertise as the Resident GP for ITV’s This Morning. As a medical expert for ITV News and Sky News, Sara draws from her extensive experience in healthcare, making her an engaging speaker who breaks down the complexities of medicine to deliver simple and effective messages to a range of audiences.
After gaining a medical and surgical degree from King’s College London, Sara completed her GP training at St George’s Hospital, attaining her membership to the Royal College of GPs and specialising in general practice. She went on to work as a Junior Doctor at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Worthing Hospital. During her time as a General Practitioner at Balham Park Surgery, Sara was featured on Channel 5’s GPs Behind Closed Doors, kickstarting her TV career. She continued to grow her influence in the healthcare sphere by becoming a Founding Member of GPDQ, an independent primary healthcare provider aiming to improve access to healthcare in the home, workplace and community with an on-demand GP service. Previously working as a General Practitioner at Freedomhealth and Gray’s Inn Medical Practice, Sara now serves as an NHS GP at Healthcare Central London. Since 2019, she has also worked as a Private Health Consultant at 90 Sloane Street Ltd.
In 2024, Sara published her book How to Have a Baby, a toolkit for pregnancy, labour, birth, breastfeeding and your baby’s first year. Passionate about supporting maternity care and parenthood, she is also an ambassador for mothers2mothers. Sara has made many mainstream TV appearances, such as Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, Celebrity Pointless and co-presented the Channel 4 series ‘Lose Weight Like Me’ with Jordan Banjo.
