Dr. Anita Mitra

Anita Mitra is a renowned Dr in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is also known as The Gynae Geek on social media. With over 160k followers on Instagram, she is a trusted source of information, in a time rife with many self-proclaimed experts and internet gurus. A leading expert in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anita is a highly sought-after speaker for wellness events, where she articulately shares her insights into the vaginal microbiome in cervical cancer and precancer and the management of cervical abnormalities.

Her medical journey began at the University of Leicester, where she first earned a BSc in Medical Biochemistry and then an MBChB in Medicine. In 2011 she became an FY1 Doctor at the University Hospitals of Leicester and then progressed to FY2 Doctor at Northampton General Hospital, where she was involved in trauma and orthopaedic, accident and emergency medicine and general practice. Anita then joined the North West Thames Deanery as an NIHR Academic Speciality Trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Moreover, Anita is presently a Clinical Research Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Imperial College London, alongside practising as a Subspecialty Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
