Deborah Frances White

Deborah Frances White is a treasured comedian, author, and screenwriter, best known for writing the 2019 comedy film Say My Name. Passionate to make her mark in the entertainment industry, Deborah co-founded The Spontaneity Shop in 1996 alongside Tom Stalinsky. After delving deep into the world of improvisation, Deborah turned to stand-up comedy. She made her debut performance in How to Get Almost Anyone to Want to Sleep With You, which she performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007. Treasured throughout the community for her witty personality, she was selected to attend The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where she hosted The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow in 2008. An inspiration to audiences across the UK, Deborah has starred in numerous popular television shows, including Cult Following, Half a Can of Worms, and Friend of a Friend of Dorothy.

As an esteemed member of the entertainment community, Deborah had the chance to create the BBC Radio 4 series Deborah Frances-White Rolls the Dice which first aired in 2015. Gaining high praise from the show, she won the Writers' Guild of Great Britain award for ‘Best Radio Comedy’ for her first series before the second series was broadcast in 2016. Keen to speak about a wide range of topics with her audience, Deborah created The Guilty Feminist podcast in 2015 and later became the creator and host of the Global Pillage podcast, a comedy panel show. In 2023, The Guilty Feminist also launched Media Storm, a news podcast hosted by journalists Mathilda Mallinson and Helena Wadia.
