David’s career path is far from conventional. The son of Caribbean immigrants to the UK, he was encouraged to follow traditional career routes in law, accountancy, or engineering. He initially pursued a law degree before shifting to accounting, where he worked for eight years before transitioning into IT, specialising in database design and systems support. However, his true calling lay in communication. His natural ability to speak, teach, and advise on career progression and leadership led him to found Narratively Ltd, a company focused on coaching leaders and teams in strategic storytelling and executive communication.
Over the years, David has built an impressive portfolio of clients including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Shell, HSBC, Google, Meta, Cisco, and Vodafone. He also hosted an entrepreneurial series on Virgin Startups, where he had the privilege of working alongside Sir Richard Branson.
