Claire has a strong foundation in engineering, resulting from her BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Buffalo, MS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and PhD in Engineering Management from The George Washington University. She has led a remarkable career that has seen her hold eminent positions such as Senior Development Equity Specialist at Inter American Development Bank, Visiting Fellow at the Corporate Sustainability Institute, and Board Member of the Sustainability Division at the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Founder and President of the Institute of Caribbean Studies since 1993, Claire has Caribbean Americans’ best interests at heart. She has been lauded for her impeccable strategic foresight and ability to soundly offer developmental consulting to organisations. Claire was named in the Top 50 Female Futurists’ list by Forbes in 2020 – a testament to her prowess in the field. She also sits as the Futures Chair of the Science, Engineering and Technology Board for the Center for Global Governance and Emerging Law.
Author of “Resetting Our Futures: Smart Futures for a Flourishing World”, Claire describes herself as a storyteller, and serves as Editor-at-Large of the Human Futures Magazine as well as a Member of the Association of Professional Futurists.
