
Charlotte Hawkins is a highly respected British broadcaster, journalist and television presenter, best known for her role as an anchor on ITV’s flagship breakfast programme Good Morning Britain. In addition to her television career, Charlotte is a popular radio presenter on Classic FM, where she hosts her own weekly show, Smooth Classics at Seven. Here, she introduces listeners to a carefully curated selection of timeless classical pieces as well as fresh discoveries and rising stars in the world of classical music. With over two decades of experience in broadcasting, Charlotte is widely recognised for her warmth, professionalism and versatility. She began her career at ITN in 1999, where she worked as a newsreader and reporter for LBC Radio, covering significant news events including live reports from the Paddington rail crash.
Before joining ITV, Charlotte spent seven years at Sky News, co-presenting the breakfast show Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes. During her time at Sky, she also fronted her own daily programme, Sky News at 9am with Charlotte Hawkins, delivering breaking news and high-profile interviews. Charlotte was at the forefront of major events, anchoring live coverage of the Olympics, the Diamond Jubilee, and the Royal Wedding. She also presented Sky’s BAFTAs coverage and reported live from Los Angeles on the Oscars red carpet. Over the years, Charlotte has conducted interviews with leading politicians and global icons alike, including David Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John. Since joining Good Morning Britain in 2014, she has become a familiar face in millions of households, bringing viewers the latest news headlines and in-depth stories.
In addition to her news broadcasting work, Charlotte has appeared on a variety of entertainment programmes such as Celebrity Juice, Britain’s Got More Talent, Pointless, Tipping Point, and ITV Racing on major race days. She made a cameo appearance as a presenter in the film Burnt, starring Bradley Cooper, and has featured as a newscaster for Diversity and The Wanted during their live tours. Charlotte is also a regular host of cinema broadcasts for André Rieu’s concerts, which are shown in cinemas around the world. Her passion for classical music led to her presenting the documentary André Rieu: Behind the Music for Sky Arts.
Outside of her broadcasting career, Charlotte Hawkins is committed to several charitable causes. She is a Patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, a role that is deeply personal following the death of her father from the disease in 2015. She is also a Patron of the children’s charity Ellenor Hospice, and supports Dogs Trust, inspired by her rescue dog, Bailey. Charlotte is also a published writer, contributing articles to the Mail on Sunday, The Sunday Telegraph, The Independent on Sunday, and Condé Nast Traveller Magazine. Whether on television, radio or in print, Charlotte continues to be one of Britain’s most trusted and admired broadcasters.
