Scottish football speaker and left back Callum Davidson began his career playing for his home team of St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership. Though temporarily leaving St. Johnstone, earning a £1.75 million with a move to Premier League club Blackburn Rovers, as well as spending time at both Leicester City and Preston North End, Callum returned to St. Johnstone in 2011.
Developing his playing career across the various clubs he has played for Davidson began by making less than seventy league performances whilst at Blackburn, increasing this to 100 at Leicester and culminating in 160 and a club captaincy at Preston. As a football speaker, Callum champions the patient and detailed process of player development and demonstrates that great players do not always peak in their early years but can be seen to improve over the course of time.
This idea is ultimately highlighted in what would be Davidson’s next and latest transfer, returning to St. Johnstone’s initially on a one-year free transfer, the club had no intention of keeping him on beyond the 2011 season; however a consistent and impressive performance caused Chairman and sports speaker, Steve Brown to reconsider and finally Davidson was offered a long term contract.
Since then Callum Davidson has been working as a football speaker for the club and appeared at St. Johnstone after dinner speaker events and charity fundraisers. Davidson has also garnered a reputation following his international playing career for his home team; with almost twenty caps to his name, seventeen of which were garnered in the four years prior to 2002, Callum is a well-respected international player and is much loved by Scotland fans.
Most recently, Callum has delved into a coaching career for the Scotland national football team in 2017. He became the first-team coach at Stoke City in 2018 before joining Dunfermline Athletic and then his most recent team, Millwall as the assistant manager.
He has been employed to work as a sports speaker at international sporting events across Scotland and has appeared at after dinner speaker events for club sponsors and fans.
