British Olympic speaker and medallist Brian Jacks is a retired Judoka known for his success during the late 1970’s and early 80’s. Retiring from professional competitions in the 1990’s, Brian Jacks is most well remembered for garnering a bronze medal for team GB at the 1972 Munich Olympics; since then he has gone on to work in a number of other professions, including business and as a hotelier, though he still tours the world working as an Olympic speaker.
Prior to his retirement, Brian became a household name after his appearance on the hit BBC series Superstars, a television series which pits elite athletes against one another in a series of different sports. Jacks became one of the most successful contestants on the show and spent much of this period also working as a sports speaker discussing the various competitions and his numerous and notable rivals.
Following his success on both the British and International Superstars series, Brian launched a number of branded video games on which he appeared as a sports speaker and voice-over, Brian Jacks Superstar Challenge and Brian Jacks Uchi Mata.
Brian Jacks now lives in Thailand, where he owns a series of hotels and condo’s, however he continues to return to Europe and the UK to work as an Olympic speaker discussing Judo and commenting on the traits and techniques of contemporary Judoka’s. He has also gone on to improve his 8th Dan ranking from the British Judo Association to become a 10th Dan for the World Martial Arts Council.
