Bobby Woods

British solo artist and songwriter, Bobby Woods is one of the most successful Jazz and Blues music acts in Birmingham and the West Country, drawing influence from some of the biggest names in jazz, soul, blues and R&B Bobby Woods is available for hire for corporate events and private parties.

Surrounded by music as a child Bobby’s first forays into the profession came as a singer in his local gospel church choir. His mother, an accomplished singer in her own right, and his father, a well-known saxophonist, encouraged Bobby and helped nurture his talent.

Bobby is now a critically acclaimed solo artist and has won the Best Male Soul Singer Award at The Hummingbird Black Music Awards (the forerunner to the prestigious MOBO’s) during his career. Drawing influence from some of the most successful black solo artists of all time such as Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder Bobby has a vast and loyal following across the UK.

Firmly based near his hometown in Birmingham Bobby Woods has been employed as a performer and music act by a number of large international companies, most notably the restaurant chain Pizza Express who have employed Bobby as a solo artist and performer at launch events and restaurant openings.

Bobby has toured the world and performed with some of his solo artist idols including Ray Charles and Marvin Gaye and continues to appear at festivals and jazz and blues events. Bobby is also available for hire as a music act for private functions and corporate parties.
