Dr Bader Mousa Al-Saif is a leading Middle East expert, academic and policy adviser specialising in the geopolitics, public policy and cultural dynamics of the Arabian Peninsula. With more than two decades of experience working across the Arab Gulf states, Bader has built a reputation for offering informed insight into regional reform movements, transnational trends and the political forces shaping the Gulf. As the founding president of Al-Saif Consulting and an assistant professor, Bader combines academic research with real-world policy experience. His ability to analyse complex regional developments and translate them into clear insights has made him a respected commentator and a sought-after speaker on Middle Eastern affairs.
Bader’s academic journey reflects a deep commitment to the study of politics, history and international relations. He graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with a double major in political science and history before continuing his studies at several of the world’s leading institutions. Bader later earned a Master of Education and a Master of Theology, both with honours, from Harvard University. He went on to complete a Master of Law with honours at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London before undertaking doctoral research at Georgetown University, where he was awarded a PhD with distinction.
Alongside his academic development, Bader gained extensive experience in government and international policy. Early in his career, he worked as a consultant to the Office of Tony Blair, contributing to policy discussions on international affairs. He later served as deputy chief of staff to a former prime minister of Kuwait, where he was closely involved in high-level policy coordination. In addition to his work in government, Bader held a senior leadership role within the private sector as Senior Vice President in the oil and gas division of Agility, developing expertise in the intersection of geopolitics, global trade and energy.
Today, Bader continues to influence both academic and policy conversations on the Gulf region. As an assistant professor at Kuwait University, he focuses on the political history and reform dynamics of the Arabian Peninsula, while his consultancy work supports organisations seeking strategic insight into the region. Bader has published numerous peer-reviewed works exploring Gulf geopolitics, culture and governance, and has co-founded several non-governmental organisations dedicated to education, youth empowerment and transitional justice. Through his research, policy work and public speaking, he remains an influential voice on the evolving political landscape of the Middle East.
