Anne Keothavong is the Captain of the Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team. A stellar former tennis player, Anne has 28 ITF Women’s Circuit titles to her name and has played at Wimbledon, the Australian, French and US Opens in her career. Having played professionally since the age of 14, Anne is a seasoned tennis pro. She now speaks on her expertise of the game, leadership, and her journey as a tennis player when booked for events.
Anne’s passion for tennis began at the nascent age of 7 and has led her to entering her first Grand Slam at Wimble in 2001. While she has one a title at the LTA Junior International Tournament, Anne joined the ITF Women’s Circuit at 14. Since then, she has won 28 ITF Women’s Circuit Titles across all levels. Anne grew from strength to strength as she played in countless tournaments around the world. Her hard work resulted in her ranking world number 48 for Singles – the first British player to rank in the Top 50 since 1993.
In 2013, Anne decided to retire. However, she returned as the Captain of the Billie Jean King Cup team in 2016 - a post she currently holds. She led the team to win all four ties they played in the Europe/Africa Zone group. When she was 17, Anne had been lauded as the youngest Briton to have represented her country in the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly known as the Fed Cup). In 2021, Anne was appointed MBE in the New Years Honours list, in recognition of her services to tennis in the UK. She is also a Board Member of the All England Club, which hosts Wimbledon.
Since 2023, Anne is one of the Presenters of BBC’s coverage of Wimbledon. She offers her expertise as a sports pundit, alongside tennis legends such as Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and several others. Selected as the latest Yonex UK Ambassador, Anne continues to be a pivotal figure in British tennis.
