Angie Lau is an award-winning journalist and entrepreneur who was named Tech Woman of the Year in Hong Kong. From a long and illustrious career in journalism where she interviewed world leaders and business icons, Angie is now turning her attention to inspiring and empowering the next generation to navigate the increasingly tech driven world we live in. Angie’s career began in journalism, starting as a reporter for CBC News, she quickly rising through the ranks to become a lead anchor for Bloomberg Television Asia, hosting their award-winning daily business news programme that was relaunched as “First Up with Angie Lau.” Dedicated to improving journalism for all, Angie was the Chapter President of AAJA-Asia, a non-profit organisation dedicated to making newsrooms more ethically and racially diverse. 

In recent years, Angie has turned her skills and experience to entrepreneurship. In 2018 she became Editor-in-Chief and CEO at Forkast.News, a digital media platform that bridges the gap between blockchain industry and mainstream. Her passion for technology and innovation led her to found ASRV in 2024, a venture studio focused on technology developments that are reshaping the world. Angie is also the Founder of Life Beyond School, where she works with experts, teachers and parents to help children learn practical foundation skills. Angie is dedicated to helping families and children get ready for the tech-driven world we all live in.
