Sara Pascoe is a renowned comedian, actress, TV personality, and author best known for her hilarious appearances on popular shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Taskmaster. Since taking to the comedy circuit in 2007, she has firmly positioned herself as one of the UK’s best female comedians.
In the late 2000’s, Sara began her career doing stand-up shows before starting with her first Edinburgh Comedy Festival show, Sara Pascoe vs Her Ego, in 2010. As a result of her comedic success, she landed regular spots on popular panel shows like Mock the Week, QI, Have I Got News for You, and Would I Lie to You. In 2014, her Edinburgh Fringe Festival show, Sara Pascoe Vs History, was nominated for the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Comedy Show, the same year that she appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. In 2016, she competed on the third season of Taskmaster and toured the UK alongside Jeremy Corbyn in support of his campaign to become PM. Sara started her own BBC Radio 4 series in 2018, Sara Pascoe vs Monogamy, before starring in the BBC comedy short, Modern Monkey. Two years later, following other TV appearances, tours, and a recording of her ‘LadsLadsLads’ tour showing on BBC Two, her six-part comedy series Out of Her Mind premiered on the same channel to great acclaim. Her acting experience up to that point included parts in The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Campus, Twenty Twelve and Stand Up to Cancer sketches. Most recently, Sara appeared as a contestant on the first season of Amazon Prime’s Last One Laughing.
With three books under her belt, Sara’s first book,’ Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body’, was released in 2016, followed by a nationwide tour of the same name. Her second book, ‘Sex Power Money’, explored heterosexual relations, male sexuality and sex work. In 2024, she published her debut novel, ‘Weirdo’, which was soon shortlisted for the Comedy Women in Print Prize and won the inaugural Jilly Cooper Award. Sara has been a guest on a variety of podcasts, including ‘Russell Howard’s Five Brilliant Things’ and ‘Strong Message Here’, and is the host of the ‘Weirdo’s Book Club’ podcast with Cariad Lloyd.
Through serious quick wit and astonishing humour, Sara has earned a reputation as a performer like no other, connecting with audiences of all kinds. Her versatility and impeccable timing have rightfully led her to become one of Britain’s top comedians, performers, and hosts, with her relatable nature and fearlessness to draw from her own experiences, as well as taboo and unconventional areas, to create a show that audiences are sure to never forget.
