Bob Judson is a professional keynote speaker, leadership facilitator and executive coach whose experience spans more than four decades in defence, government and consulting.
He served for 34½ years in the Royal Air Force, progressing from fast-jet pilot to Air Vice-Marshal and membership of the RAF’s senior leadership team. During his flying career, Bob completed more than 100 operational missions over Iraq and Bosnia and accumulated over 3,500 fast-jet flying hours. His leadership appointments included command of RAF Coningsby during the introduction of the Eurofighter Typhoon and command of Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan, where he was responsible for a multinational community of approximately 25,000 people from more than 20 nations, and around 170 aircraft.
Bob subsequently served as the UK Chief of the Defence Staff’s liaison officer to the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon during a very busy period of operations in 2011. Subsequently, having been appointed as Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Operations), he provided strategic oversight of UK military operations worldwide, regularly briefing Cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister and contributing to COBRA meetings and national security planning.
After leaving the RAF in 2015, Bob became a Director at Deloitte LLP, working on major crisis management, resilience and transformation programmes. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he was asked by the Permanent Secretary to No10 Downing Street to support the Cabinet Office Covid-19 Task Force.
Today, Bob works internationally with organisations that want their leaders and teams to perform with greater clarity, confidence and consistency in demanding conditions. His keynote speaking is grounded in lived experience rather than abstract theory. He translates lessons from combat flying, military command, government and consulting into practical insights that audiences can apply immediately.
His principal keynote, “Soaring Beyond Limits”, explores how resilience is developed, how leadership capability grows through challenge and setback, and how people can continue to perform when pressure, uncertainty and consequence are high. Every presentation is tailored to the audience and the outcomes required.
Bob is also the host of the weekly Leading 4 Life “Stories” podcast, which has produced weekly episodes since 2023 featuring leadership conversations, personal experiences and practical lessons from success and failure.
