Mark Wilkinson, better known as Wilkinson, is one of the UK's most successful drum and bass artists, renowned for his explosive live performances, chart-topping productions and festival anthems. As a record producer, DJ and remixer from Hammersmith, he has become a leading figure in electronic music, blending powerful basslines with memorable vocals and crossover appeal. From packed clubs to major festivals, Wilkinson has built a reputation for delivering unforgettable performances that captivate audiences of all sizes.
Wilkinson's musical journey began in bands, performing at venues as large as the Birmingham NEC before discovering his passion for dance music at 14 years old. During his final year at college, he started producing beats, investing in his first studio equipment and transforming his bedroom into a creative workspace. After securing a professional studio, he passed several tracks to Hospital Records through Cyantific, earning his first release on the Sick Music 2 compilation. Soon afterwards, he submitted a collection of demos to Ram Records, catching the attention of legendary DJ Andy C, who quickly invited him to the label's headquarters. Signing with Ram Records and Virgin EMI marked the beginning of his rise as one of the biggest names in drum and bass.
His breakthrough produced a string of hit singles, including 'Afterglow', which became a UK top five hit, sold more than 500,000 copies and amassed over 65 million YouTube views. Further chart successes came with 'Half Light', 'Dirty Love', 'Hopelessly Coping', 'Too Close', 'Heartbeat', 'Need To Know', 'Take You Higher' and 'Hit The Floor'. Wilkinson has now sold more than 1.1 million singles, while his debut album 'Lazers Not Included' topped the iTunes Dance Chart in ten countries. His acclaimed follow-up, 'Hypnotic', became the year's most successful drum and bass album, before he continued his momentum with his fourth studio album, 'Cognition'. Alongside his own releases, he has collaborated and remixed for artists including Ed Sheeran, Chase & Status, Wretch 32, Katy B, Laura Mvula and Becky Hill. His achievements have also been recognised with National Drum & Bass Awards for Best Single, Best Album, Best Video, Best Producer and Best Live Act.
As a live entertainer, Wilkinson consistently delivers high-energy performances that combine world-class production with crowd-pleasing anthems. He has performed at Radio 1 Big Weekend, Glastonbury, Wireless, Reading and Leeds, SW4 and EDC Las Vegas, alongside four summer residencies at Amnesia Ibiza and sold-out headline shows at London's Electric, The Forum and Roundhouse. Whether performing at festivals, corporate events or exclusive private occasions, Wilkinson's combination of chart success, technical expertise and electrifying stage presence guarantees an exceptional experience for every audience.
