Mamta Singhal MBE

Mamta Singhal MBE is an award-winning engineer, business leader and diversity advocate who has built an exceptional international career across some of the world's most recognised consumer brands. Best known for being awarded an MBE for Services to Engineering in 2022, she has become one of the UK's leading voices on the importance of diversity, leadership and innovation within technical industries. As a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET) and Fellow of the Women's Engineering Society (FWES), Mamta combines technical excellence with inspiring personal insights that resonate with audiences worldwide.

Born in Massachusetts and raised in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, Mamta developed an early passion for mathematics, science and creative problem-solving. Her connection to engineering began long before university, spending time at the University of Glasgow where her father lectured, before later enrolling there herself to study Product Design Engineering. She went on to further strengthen her business and technical expertise with an MSc in Engineering Management from the University of Strathclyde and an MBA with Distinction from Strathclyde International Business School. Beginning her professional career on Dyson's graduate engineering programme in 2003, Mamta quickly established herself as a talented engineer. She later joined Hasbro as a Global Design Engineer, working on internationally recognised brands including Play-Doh, Monopoly and Action Man, experiences that helped shape her understanding of product development, innovation and global manufacturing.

Over the course of more than two decades, Mamta has held senior positions with major organisations including Dyson, Hasbro, Mars, Mattel, Coca-Cola European Partners, Diageo and Charlotte Tilbury Beauty. Her career has spanned engineering, manufacturing, sustainability, quality, commercialisation and innovation, influencing iconic brands such as Barbie, Galaxy, Twix, Bounty and M&M's. Alongside her corporate success, Mamta has established herself as a recognised leader within the engineering profession. She served as a Visiting Professor at Middlesex University, became a Board Member of the Women's Engineering Society, was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and has regularly appeared on BBC Breakfast, ITV News and national radio discussing diversity in STEM. Her achievements include receiving the MBE, being awarded Fellowship of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, receiving Fellowship of the Women's Engineering Society, winning the British Indian Award for Best in Science & Engineering, and earning recognition as one of the UK's leading women in engineering.
