Graeme Leach is one of Britain's leading economists and the founder and chief economist of Global4cast, a unique macroeconomic and geopolitical advisory firm. The company was founded on Graeme's unsurpassed track record in economic forecasting, helping clients get ahead of the curve in times of great uncertainty. He is writing a new book, The Defining Decade, which argues that the sheer scale of economic and geopolitical change over the 2026-2035 period will make it the 'defining decade' of the 21st century.
Graeme is a member of the IEA Shadow Monetary Policy Committee and has been interviewed frequently on BBC News, Sky News, Radio 4 Today Programme and Radio 4 World at One. For nearly a decade, he had a column in the City AM newspaper. Graeme has made 100s of speeches on the future economic outlook and economic policy in the UK and 30 countries across the globe. His audiences have ranged from 2,000 delegates in the Royal Albert Hall, and 1,000 at the Fixed Income Leaders Summit in Paris, to after dinner speeches and round tables.
He is a former chief economist and director of policy at the Institute of Directors (IoD), where he was also a member of the Board. Graeme represented the IoD in discussions with the Chancellor of the Exchequer and 10 Downing Street. He has also worked as director of economics at the Legatum Institute (now Prosperity Institute) analysing the sources of economic prosperity across the globe.
He started his career at the Henley Centre for Forecasting, where he was chief UK economist and chief international economist. He has also worked as economic adviser to the Scottish Provident Investment Group. Graeme is visiting professor of economic policy at the University of Lincoln and has also lectured on the masters degree at Cardiff Business School.
