Dr Gauri Seth is an award-winning emotional wellness and parental coach who qualified and worked as an Academic Foundation Doctor and Core Psychiatry Doctor for the NHS before becoming the Founder of Brain-Based Connection. Gauri is a published medical researcher, presenting her findings on the science of meditation and psychological wellbeing at international conferences. Her extensive academic background has made Dr Gauri Seth a sought-after motivational speaker and coach for speeches, workshops and 1:1 sessions on wellness and parenting.
Gauri achieved a First Class Honours in Medical Ethics and Law at the University of Bristol. During her studies, Gauri was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Oxford and the University of Melbourne, interned at the World Health Organization, and tutored at her university. Gauri became an Academic Foundation Doctor for the NHS in 2009 at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Gauri joined the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in 2012, specialising as a Core Psychiatry Doctor. During this time, she was also an Academic Clinical Fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neurosciences, where she achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods for Integrated Academic Trainees. Using her medical knowledge and experience of raising her own children, Gauri founded Brain-Based Connection in 2021, which provides coaching and consulting for parents and caregivers. She also freelances for Cognacity as an Executive Coach in Parenting and Family Connection. Gauri co-founded The London Bladder Clinic in 2022 and works as the Mental Wellness Lead. Building on her previous work with the World Health Organization, she became a Content Creator in the FIDES Department for Digital Health & Innovation at the World Health Organization in 2024, sharing evidence-based health content.
A widely published researcher in psychology and medicine, Gauri was recently recognised as a Top Cited Author by the Journal of Family Therapy. Her business, Brain-Based Connection, won the Best Family Wellness Coaching Company – London at the 2024 Global Business Awards. It was also a finalist for the Start-up Business of the Year 2022 and the Best Mental Well-Being Initiative at The Great British Workplace Well-being Awards 2023.
