Trevor Williams

An economist with a distinguished career to his name, Trevor Williams is revered for his talent in analysing both global and domestic data to support clients from financial institutions, SMEs and large corporate clients. Currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Derby and Chairman of the Institute of Economic Affairs Shadow Monetary Policy Committee, Trevor shares his knowledge of the complexities of finance and economics, backed by his credible career at Lloyds Bank. Now hired as a speaker for corporate events, Trevor details the latest economic developments to help clients understand the changing global economy.

Completing studies of a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Economics at the University of Essex, Trevor’s first significant role saw him appointed as the Chief Economist of Lloyds Bank. For 21 years, Trevor spearheaded economics at Lloyds, establishing a team of highly-regarded and talented economists who analysed the ever-changing global economic landscape. After 21 years with Lloyds, Trevor left to become a Visiting Professor at the University of Derby, and a year later became the Co-Founder of FXGuard Limited. Specialising in mergers and acquisitions, Trevor continues his work with FXGuard Limited today, as a leading authority on economics and finance.

Highly skilled in banking, market strategy, credit analysis and investments, Trevor has previous experience managing equity, interest rate analytics, quantitative and fixed incomes. Trevor has also contributed his expertise as a Lecturer at the CASS Business School and Cardiff University, along with sitting on the Editorial Board of Economia and the Journal of Corporate Treasury Management. Trevor has also been a lecturer of Economics and Business Statistics, as well as working for the UK Government Economic Service. When he is not spreading his expertise as a lecturer or economist, Trevor is writing articles for publications such as Clear Path Analysis, Economia and Moneyfacts, or acting as a Patron of Reach Society and the Chairman of Through the Looking Glass and Ballet Black. He has also co-authored the book Trading Economics: A Guide to Economic Statistics for Practitioners and Students, with Victoria Turton.

Now specialising as a consultant, Trevor is regularly hired to speak at corporate conferences across the globe.
