Nick Mohammed is a well-known comedian and actor who has performed at prestigious events, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and appeared in Hollywood films such as 'The Martian'. He is also the creative force behind the hugely successful Mr Swallows character. In 2026, he was a fan favourite as a faithful on BBC 'Celebrity Traitors', eventually finishing as a runner-up. Nick studied Geophysics at Durham University before briefly doing a PhD in seismology at Cambridge. Alongside this, Nick worked as a close-up magician at hotels and weddings, crafting his unique persona and perfecting his crowd work. In 2009, Nick debuted on BBC Radio Four as part of 'Quarters', and co-hosted the BBC Three comedy, 'The King Is Dead' with Simon Bird and Katy Wix in 2010. That same year, he began his own BBC Radio Four show, 'Detective Sergeant Nick Mohammed'. In the following years, Nick had multiple supporting roles on established programmes, including E4 comedy 'Drifters' and ITV comedy 'The Job Lot'. In 2018, he voiced Piglet in the Disney film Christopher Robin and created the Sky One show 'Intelligence' with David Schwimmer.
As part of his role as Nathan on the hit show, 'Ted Lasso, Nick was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 73rd and 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. He additionally won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble. In 2023, he made another film appearance, starring in Maggie Moore(s), with Jon Hamm and Tina Fey. Nick also appeared on Channel Four's 'Taskmaster' in 2024 and opened his 'A Christmas Carol (ish)' performance at Soho Place in London's West End. In 2025, Nick continued to explore a variety of roles, playing Mayor Zafar Jaffrey on Apple TV+'s 'Slow Horses' and starring in 'Deep Cover' with Bryce Dallas Howard and Orlando Bloom.
