They turned Audionet into Broadcast.com and grew the business to 330 employees. In 1999, Mark sold the company to Yahoo for a whopping $5.7 billion! This was a historical deal that is remembered to this day. Mark swiftly bought a Gulfstream jet over the internet gaining a Guinness World Record for making the largest E-commerce transaction. His next venture was the Dallas Mavericks which he bought the majority stake for $285 million. Mark is credited for improving the team’s performance which saw them compete in the NBA Finals in 2006 for the first time in franchise history. They also became NBA World Champions in 2011 and have earned a listing on Forbes’s most valuable franchises in sports.
