Vineet Nayar is an Indian author, philanthropist and business executive. Among his other career highlights, he is the former Chief Executive Officer of HCL Technologies until 2013, Founder Chairman & CEO of Sampark Foundation and author of the renowned managerial guide, Employees First, Customers Second: Turning Conventional Management Upside Down which has sold over 100,000 copies. At present, Vineet is a Senior Advisor to the HCL Corporation, after starting his career in business after earning his MBA from XLRI, in 1985.
Founded in 1993, Vineet’s business, Comnet, quickly advanced into a $1 billion dominant leader in Technology Management business. In 2005, Vineet was appointed President of HCL Technologies, pioneering as the company’s CEO until 2013. His development of EFCS whilst with HCL Technologies is globally renowned as a phenomenon in the world of business, with Fortune describing the company as the “world’s most modern management”. During his period at the company, he improved their revenue and market cap by six times, leading the company to win awards for the Most Democratic workplace in the world, Workforce Management Optimas Award for HR Innovation in the US, Britain’s Top Employers, Best Employer in Asia, and many more. With his years of expertise, Vineet has applied his knowledge as Governor of ICT, member of the Global Advisory Board of Women Leader’s and Gender Parity Program as well as a Community Partner of the Forum of Young Global Leaders at the World Economic Forum.
