David Jones

David Jones is one of Britain’s most established football broadcasters, a trusted keynote speaker and accomplished event host. Best known as the Presenter of Super Sunday and Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, David has become the face of the network’s biggest Premier League fixtures. For more than two decades, he has shaped how live football is presented and analysed on British television, guiding viewers through the drama of title races, relegation battles and European nights with authority and ease.

David’s first role was as a news reporter at the Derbyshire Times in Chesterfield, covering crime and local politics, where he learned to work under pressure and deliver clear, accurate reporting. A defining early moment came during Chesterfield FC’s memorable FA Cup run in 1997, when David moved onto the sports desk and discovered his future direction. In 1998, he joined Sky for the launch of Sky Sports News, initially as a scriptwriter before progressing to reporter and, in 2002, Presenter on Sky Sports News, marking the start of his national broadcasting career.

Over the years, David has built an impressive portfolio of high-profile roles. He became Host of The Football League coverage in 2007 and began presenting live Premier League matches in 2010. In 2016, he was appointed Main Football Presenter at Sky Sports, taking over the network’s flagship programmes and cementing his position at the forefront of football broadcasting. Alongside his television career, David stepped into football governance, serving as Non-Executive Director at Oxford United from 2015 to 2018 and later as Non-Executive Director at Sunderland AFC from 2019.
