When Machines Imagine: Ethical Futures Beyond Human Design
As generative AI produces visions of the future - often without clear authorship or accountability - it raises urgent ethical questions. What does it mean when machines ‘imagine’ for us, and what responsibilities follow when these images shape foresight, policy, and public imagination?
In this talk, Alina Solotarov draws on Futures Studies, Information Ethics, and real-world examples of AI-generated futures to call for new ethical frameworks. She introduces ethical co-imagination: an approach grounded in transparency, representational justice, and integrity. This session equips leaders, technologists, and policymakers with tools to govern generative AI while asking whose voices are included in building futures worth living in.
