Campbell began with an education in Physics, earning his BSc from the University of Melbourne in 1981. He later became the Marketing Director of Virgin Wines and played a pivotal role in expanding the national brand. Following this role, he served as the Director of Corporate Strategy at Zurich Insurance Group, Head of eBusiness at AMP Group and Senior Adviser at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. In 2017, he published his hit book, 'The Change Catalyst', which equipped leaders with the tools to lead effectively through change. The book was later shortlisted for the 2021 Business Book Awards and was named the UK Business Book of the Year.
Campbell also served as an Executive Fellow at Henley Business School, where he lectured on leadership and business change. In 2021, he began sharing strategic insights as an Opinion Columnist for CEOWORLD magazine and published his third book 'You: Part Two', which he co-authored with yoga therapist Jane Macpherson. Most recently in 2026, he published his high-EQ leadership framework and fourth book, 'Leading with Influence', which explores the power of influence in leadership.
