Making a mark in the feeder series, he became a Race Engineer for Red Bull Junior Team F3000. Joining Formula One in 2002, Xevi was an Assistant Race Engineer for Eddie Irvine at Jaguar. He served as a Race Engineer for Williams F1 Team, where he worked with leading drivers including Juan Pablo Montoya, Ralf Schumacher and Mark Webber. Following a brief stint as Bruno Senna’s Race Engineer at Hispania F1 Racing, he returned to Williams as Pastor Maldonado’s Race Engineer and later as Chief Race Engineer. In 2014, he joined Toro Rosso as a Senior Race Engineer, working with Max Verstappen in his early Formula 1 journey. Xevi has been part of the Sauber group for nearly a decade, during which he has assisted in the transition from Alfa Romeo to Audi F1 in 2026.
Xevi has been a key architect of the transformation that took the team from near-collapse to sixth in the Constructors Championship and built the operational foundation for Audi's entry as a works manufacturer. Outside of the grid, he is co-developing Pole Position OS in partnership with Flow Insider, translating F1 cognitive and organisational principles into elite business team performance. Xevi is also the Managing Director of RaceMode Performance GmbH, consulting for motorsports and high-performance teams.
