April Rinne

April Rinne is one of the most respected futurists of our day having been named by Forbes as ‘One of the 50 Leading Female Futurists’ in the world. April is currently a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader whose expertise are highly regarded and sought after by some of the largest companies in the world including the World Bank, Nike, Airbnb to name a few. April has been helping people understand the difficult relationship they have with change to ultimately aid them in forging a more positive relationship with the change they face. During her keynote speeches April has also been helping organisations, from start-ups to world-leading companies, with the strategies they implement to cope with change.

As a Harvard Law School graduate, April began her career as a Senior Guide and Researcher for Butterfield & Robinson Luxury Travel but her first major role in futurism came with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, for which, she was an external consultant and advised foundation grantees on a microfinance and water sanitation initiative. Her talents are predicting future markets clear for all to see, April then went on to hold numerous prestigious roles including the Director for Water.org, Chief Strategy Officer for Collaborative Consumption, Director for the World Wide Web Foundation, Advisor for the National League of Cities and an Advisor to World Pulse to name a few. For nearly three decades April has been helping companies in over 100 countries navigate change within their industry so they can find peace amongst the chaos, catalysing growth. April was invited to speak on the highly respected TEDx stage and competed a talk titled ‘How to Navigate Our Uncertain Future’.

A keen traveller, April spent 4 years traveling solo which helped her understand how different cultures live. One thing every company in every country had in common is their inability to cope with change and uncertainty. April has a proven track record of recognising key shifts early on in a wide range of domains. A few examples of the shifts April foresaw include: the rise of portfolio careers, remote work, and self-employed professionals; helping banks see the value of financial inclusion and microfinance; foreseeing the power of sharing economy and access-over-ownership business models.
