Tim Lovejoy


Best known for his role alongside Helen Chamberlain, hosting Soccer AM, a Saturday morning football programme, Tim Lovejoy is an English television presenter. Named by The Daily Telegraph as the forty-ninth most eligible bachelor he has also presented Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and BT Sports Panel on Saturday mornings.

Tim’s career in television began with a few minor roles such as covering VJ for MTV and working as a researcher for The Big Breakfast Show. His career properly kicked off when he began hosting and producing Soccer AM on Sky Television in 1996, he remained in this role for eleven years. After the success of Soccer AM Tim switched up his career and became a radio DJ for Xfm before moving to Virgin Radio to present a Sunday-afternoon show. His next big role was on Sky 1, this was his own talk show called Tim Lovejoy and the Allstars and involved him chatting with celebrities between performances from a variety of bands.

From 2006 to 2012 Tim co-presented Something for the Weekend which is a Sunday morning TV programme on BBC2, this saw him work with chef Simon Rimmer along with various female co-hosts including Louise Redkanpp, Caroline Flack and Amanda Hamilton. The show had cookery at the centre with celebrity guests assisting in the preparation of easy recipes however also had regular segments on cocktails, gadgets and guess the year pop songs. The show continually received sky high ratings yet ended due to it’s unfortunate scheduling on BBC 2 during the day this lead to the viewers creating an online campaign to save the show.
